Our diversity of services, dedication to quality workmanship and oustanding customer service allows us to remain competitive as we strive to be the top water feature contractor in the Metro Detroit area. Below are just a few of the many services we offer at Pondering Waters. Please call, or use the contact us page if you have any questions.

All of our ponds are installed by highly trained installers: each installer goes back for training every spring to keep up with quality and new developed techniques. Our water gardens are built with only the best equipment there is which is Aquascape designs. We use Aquascape because of their commitment to good quality products. We offer a one year installation and manufacture warranty and a 20 year warranty on our liner.

Each Spring we contact our customers for cleanings. If needed we begin to drain the pond and remove any fish. We store the fish in a live well to be protected during cleaning. Once the pond is empty, we power wash the pond and pump out the dirty water. We do not power wash all the algae off because some algae on rocks will prove beneficial in developing your pond's ecosystem. When the pond is cleaned, we clean all the filter pads, the skimmer box and the biofalls, then we connect the pumps or fountains. Next we begin to filling the pond and add chlorine-chloramine remover. The last step is to properly acclimate the fish to put them back into the pond. We do this by using the old pond water from the live well and putting a few inches of water in a fish display container and let the container with the fish float in your pond. After fifteen minutes we periodically begin adding small amounts of new pond water to the container to get the temperature of the water in the container the same as the water in the pond. This will be less stressful to the fish.

For Winter, we take out all pumps and fountains from the pond, rinse them off and put them in a bucket of fresh water to keep the seals from drying out and cracking. The homeowner puts these items in their basement. Next we cut down all hardy water lilies 2-3' above the base of the plant and cut down all hardy bog or marginal plants 2-3' above the water level. Tropical plants can be brought inside for winter or treated as an annual and replaced each season. Then we try to remove as much of all the dead debris such as plants or leaves that we can so that they will not break down and add harmful toxins to the water. When that is done, we rinse all the filter systems and store them in the homeowners shed or garage. The last step we do is to add at least a 1400-1600gph pump in the skimmer box with a discharge hose out the top of the skimmer back into the pond. This will insure to maintain a good opening in the ice for gases to escape.

We offer this to all customers. We will come out once a month and clean the filters and cut back any dead debris off of the plants and do other maintenance that may be needed. We find this to be very helpful for customers or business owners who do not have the time to maintain the pond, but love to enjoy the stress relief of a water pond.

Peace of mind is a phone call away when you go on vacation. A person from our staff will go to your pond location once or twice a week, depending on the length of the vacation, and simply check the pond to make sure everything is running correctly.
